Beaches

The coastline of Astypalaia has total length of 124 km. The large number of beaches and the individual regions offer to the tourist the possibility for "breakthroughs" of great beauty. Some remote beaches of exceptional beauty enable absolute peace and contact with a natural environment.

Livadi: Organized beach, combines sand and pebbles, with facilities for water sports, umbrellas, sun beds and several trees.

Pera Gialos: One of the busiest organized beachs, just below the town.

Agios Vasilis: The next beach after Livadi.
 
Tzanaki: A sequence pebble beaches near Livadi. Approached by a path.

Agios Konstantinos: A nice organized sandy cove with turquoise waters.

Vatses: Organized beach with deep cold waters and pebbles, between two rocky hills. There are a few umbrellas and sunbeds. Nearby is the cave of Black.

Kaminakia: Beach with sand, small pebbles and rocks at the edge. It has no infrastructures.

Agios Ioannis: From the most famous beaches, accessible by boat or 2 hours descent.

Agios Ioannis richtis: Lovely pebble beach, accessible by boat.

Steno: Organized beach and ideal for children, as it has shallow waters.

Mikro Steno: The beach is not organized and has no shading.

Plakes: The beach is not organized, but for those who like to dive, the seabed is rich in beautiful images.

Matlezana beach: Organised, unique beautiful beach with sand and trees.

Mple Limanaki: Small, picturesque beach about 300-350 meters from the port of Maltezana.

Schinontas: Organized sandy beach few meters east of Maltezana.      

Pachia Ammos$: Beach with gravel and few trees. You can access the beach by organized hiking or dy boat.

Psili Ammos: Beach with beautiful sand and clear water, is not organized and has no natural shading.

Panormos: Pebbly beach with fairly rough dirt road route and approximately 45 minutes away from the city.

Koutsomitis: Island in the middle of the Aegean (access only by boat or excursion boats).

Kounoupes: Island in the middle of the Aegean (access only by boat or excursion boats).

Astypalaia has numerous beaches accessible only by boat.
